Ilari Antila, M.Sc.
Ilari Antila joined the company in 2009 as CEO. Ilari has two decades of international experience in the clinical diagnostics, medical technology and life science industries. His primary focus has been in the areas of senior management, strategic business development, marketing and sales while working for diagnostics and life science companies in Finland, Germany, Switzerland and in the U.S.. The last ten years he has held various senior management responsibilities. Prior to joining Next Biomed he worked as President of European operations at an American privately held life science company.

Kalle Saksela, Prof., M.D., Ph.D.
Kalle Saksela is Professor of Virology at the University of Helsinki. Dr. Saksela is an accomplished virologist trained in the world’s leading research laboratories, and has several publications in first-rank journals like Nature, Cell, EMBO Journal, Journal of Experimental Medicine, and Journal of Virology. His research has focused on molecular pathogenesis of AIDS and cell biology of HIV infection. In 1993 Dr. Saksela was the first to report the strong correlation between disease progression and the rate of HIV replication in blood cells of infected patients. A major interest area of his subsequent studies has been interactions between viral and host cell proteins. In addition to studying natural protein complexes Dr. Saksela has developed a successful line of research related to protein bioengineering aimed at improving binding strength and specificity in protein interactions with therapeutic and diagnostic potential.

Kari Jääskeläinen D.A., M.Sc. (econ)
Kari Jääskeläinen is an experienced entrepreneur and a certified management consultant (CMC) with consultancy experience from over 90 cases with start-up and growth companies and commercialising of university innovations. Prior to launching his management consultancy he has worked in the capital markets as a chief dealer of Opstock Brokerage. Kari Jääskeläinen holds academic degrees from Helsinki School of Economics and Helsinki University of Art and Design.
